Elczar Adame's Shared Points on SharePoint

A year ago, I had an occasion to explore and publish a piece on Office Web Apps in SharePoint 2010. Only last week that I was forced to setup a SharePoint 2010 and Office Web Apps on a domain controller. Not a recommended practice, but I need to do it for some reasons.

After successfully installing and configuring the Office Web Apps, I have attempted viewing a Word document and a PowerPoint presentation in a browser. Unfortunately, it fired the following error:

After executing the following script using SharePoint 2010 Management Shell, thanks to Jie Li’s article, the Office Web Apps started functioning normally on a domain controller:

To enable Word Web App:
$e = Get-SPServiceApplication | where {$_.TypeName.Equals(“Word Viewing Service Application”)}
$e.WordServerIsSandboxed = $false

To enable PowerPoint Web App:
Get-SPPowerPointServiceApplication | Set-SPPowerPointServiceApplication -EnableSandboxedViewing $false
Get-SPPowerPointServiceApplication | Set-SPPowerPointServiceApplication -EnableSandboxedEditing $false

NOTE: You need to answer “Y” after each command. Don’t forget to execute IISRESET after the commands above.

Hope it helps!
